Range of workshops
The workshops that are offered with the dance productions are independent elements within the whole projects. The workshops may take place as preparations to a performance, however it is also possible to organize a workshop at school as a follow-up to a performance. In each case the aim of the workshop is to explore and to practice free movement and its effects in dance. If a workshop is organized as a follow-up to a performance, it is possible to work with the children closely along their experience of the stage performance.
Workshops are also offered to teachers, furthermore, a guide for activities in the classroom is available.
In the frame of school performances, workshops may take place directly at the venue whenever it is possible to coordiate available locations with the theatre’s administration.
Workshops within family-performances are offered subsequently to the stage performance. The main themes of the production are processed with the children through movement games and other activities that are in accordance with the performance, ensuring that the main themes are reflected in the workshops.
Parcours of experiences
Encanced workshops with a range of activities are offered after family-performances. Participants can listen to soundtracks from the stage pieces and try to remember the movements that accompanied them; they can take photos of themselves shaped in life-size pictures of the stage-characters; they can draw pictures of what they have seen during the show, thereby using paper and their body to process and explore what has been experienced.
Mentoring programme (godclass)
Working with classes in the frame of a mentoring programme (godclass) has proven extremely fruitful not only for the children involved, but also for the stage productions.
Within an exchange that takes place continuously throughout the whole process of a production, the children involved will have a close-up experience of how ideas can be expressed through movement. Their contributions are added as inclusive parts to the stage work. The planning is coordinated with the teacher and is organized in accordance with the capacities of the school. Classes are arranged at school and as rehearsal attendances.
